11-9-12 - ZETOR SEES PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS AS SPRINGBOARD FOR GROWTH

Since their appointment to represent Zetor less than a year ago, the team at McHale Plant Sales in Birdhill and its Zetor Sales Ireland affiliate has been busy preparing the ground for what they envisage will be a major improvement in Zetor’s position on the Irish market in the year ahead.

Working with their existing thirty-five strong dealer network, and a small number of new dealers to be appointed in areas where Zetor is not currently represented, McHale plans to ‘significantly increase’ Zetor’s current market share and to capitalise on its improved technology and strength in the 70-140HP segment. Zetor’s plans are to expand its range to 50HP next year and 200HP in 2014.

“We will do this by placing increased focus on the agricultural sector within our own organisation, by working more closely with dealers and by broadening our presence in the sector with the addition of some important new product lines” said McHale Managing Director, Michael McHale.

The company sees its presence at this year’s National Ploughing Championships providing a ‘springboard for growth’ in the year ahead. “We will be showcasing Zetor’s new technology and strength in the 70-140 horse power range and displaying a host of new attachments for which we have been appointed exclusive distributors in Ireland” Mr. McHale added.

On display will be the very latest Forterra HSX, a model which Zetor claims is the most powerful and best-equipped tractor in their portfolio and a market leader in terms of fuel consumption.

Powered by an economical. 16-valve engine, the Forterra HSX has a five-speed gearbox, three-stage torque multiplier and power shuttle and a 30 speeds forward/reverse capability. Its other features include HitchTronic automatic three-point hitch controls, LCD display, more powerful hydraulics and a longer wheelbase for better stability. Displayed alongside it will be the 65hp-135hp Forterra and Proxima ranges.

Making its debut on the McHale stand will be the Italian-made Merlo range of telehandlers. The company has agreed to start co-operation to represent Merlo construction and agricultural telehandlers in the Republic of Ireland outside of Leinster.

A world leader in telehandler design, Merlo manufactures an extensive range of distinctively green-liveried telescopic handlers under their Panoramic brand name. Designed primarily for construction, environmental and agricultural applications, models to be displayed by McHale will include the popular Merlo P25-6 and P32-6 Plus versions.

Plans by McHale to expand their agricultural products portfolio will be seen in other models on display. These include a range of Agrostroj, SIP and UNIA tractor attachments and a Komatsu WA320-6 wheel loader.

Noting that they traditionally hold the No.1 position in Ireland for Komatsu excavators and bulldozers, McHale sees their wheel loader being particularly suitable for silage handling and other farm applications.

McHale Plant Sales and its affiliate, Zetor Sales Ireland will be exhibiting jointly on Stand No. 158, Row F, Block 3.
