9-12-2013 - KOMATSU DISTRIBUTOR MCHALE PLANT SALES HAS EYES FIXED ON ANTARCTICA

Komatsu distributor McHale Plant Sales will have eyes firmly fixed on Antarctica to where a Komatsu HB215LC-1 Hybrid Excavator has been shipped for use by the International Polar Foundation.

 
Fitted with all the attachments needed to operate successfully in the icy landscape of the South Pole, the machine was prepared and equipped for work at the Princess Elisabeth Station. 
 
Shipped there from Belgium on the vessel ‘Mary Arctica’, the eco-friendly excavator will support polar scientific research being carried out in the area of climate change and the achievement a low carbon society.

The Princess Elisabeth station is the only zero emission base on the Antarctic, running entirely on solar and wind energy, and the first polar base that combines eco-friendly construction materials, clean and efficient energy use, optimisation of the station's energy consumption and clever waste management techniques.
